Like another person has said, there needs to be more compact cities for walls to look and function nicely. Maybe, at a certain population milestone, there’s a “poof” animation and a preset city tile or set of tiles is placed down, which is surrounded by walls. Then construction of normal structures, farms, individual houses, etc. happens outside of the walls which surround the city tiles at any given time. As the city reaches population milestones, it grows more compact and this is represented by city tiles appearing, which the walls will always surround. -

Chef MoquinAgreed with Dr. Blue don't want entire walls around the boarders of the kingdom just town with the resources and power to do so (could do both stone and palisade walls)
-

Chr3sCities and Towns should be able to build a Wall around them. The Kingdoms borders could be fortified by outposts or palisades. And then ofcourse we would need Siege Weapons/ Siege Tents and Siege Events.

A.JKingGuys stop saying walls around a village hat will look so wierd kingdom sometime shave up to 15 villages and if every kingdom has that it will just look ugly
-

Cmt_52I think it would be cool if the walls were around the villages instead and villages were separated more so it would look nice.

KattenSausThis would be really great, but with the current cityscape it would be an intertwining mess of walls and towns, basically coruscant (for non starwars fans that is a planetwide city) like we already have but with walls every house group. towns would need some reasonable distance.

vampireI have an idea for a wall, like Cổ Loa Citadel ( Cổ Loa Citadel - Wikipedia ).
When the population of the city:
- 10x10=100: 1 round
- 20x20=400: 2 round, 1 more barracks and 1 general
- 30x30=900: 3 round, 1 more barracks and 1 general
...
Each general defends 1 round. When there is a war, the general of the outermost circle will go to war -

Crossriderbankai22I think the idea of walls are really good if well done, but first, before thinking about Walls, there should be a Update to Adjust the Durability of Houses, Buildings of the Villages, because it's really bad to see it going down to easy, even animais can destroy it, let's be honest, this is bad, so I could say that Buildings durability are more important to talk about even more than Walls, a totally new feature like that to the game need to have some considerations, what is the best way to have Walls, what is need to be protected? Since the villagers always run to war conflicts and there are super bow shooting people like Artilleries, also to add cannons first we need to get the few basics to make it work, it's like asking the details of a house without having building the first layers of that house, everything has to come first, Maxim pls, consider to think about the durability of buildings, boats, even terrain, and plan the Walls to Protect like 200-500 buildings near of the Castle!

Crossriderbankai22I think walled kingdoms should have a challenge to get there, and a process, types of walls.
Low Log Walls.
Advanced Wood Walls (Are Cut and Best for Infantry Protection).
Stacked Stone Walls (They Are Simpler).
Fortified Stone Walls (They are stronger, better, have a wooden frame, towers for Archer's, and tall entrance gates).
And each one of them evolves over time, and they shouldn't be quick to build, it's necessary to advance the technology after many levels.
And Improvement in the Durability of Houses, and Other Buildings, because even animals and monsters can destroy them easily, Fire destroys all the stone houses, it doesn't make sense...Walls Should protect the Strongest Kingdom Castle, In a radius that protects between 100-300 houses or area, and among the walls only more advanced houses can live there, the rich have more preference.. More resistant boats, even piranhas destroys it, But how? That's why we deserve better mechanics and introduce Walls. -

InspectibleEyeWall should be in the kingdoms capital so if there's rebellion the capital won't be destroyed that easily

MasterSaphiri've actually found that it will be cool that the walls would be created by citys and only on the frontiers tiles constructed one by one like on age of empire and
maybe with a gate that can let pass a road , and maybe the units could be on the walls with bows or maybe rocks or hot sand to be more realistic and also it will
be nice that a potential walls update add features like siege units like a
siege towers that permit to deploy units on the walls or maybe a batteling ram that can break the gate to let the units enter , and walls would be a technologie
and siege engines another one , actually an walls evolution like on kindgome would be nice with wood to rock wall to iron walls and the wood walls coulb put in
fire
PS: srry for my bad english hope my ideas will maybe be checked -

MrGreenI second the Cannon suggestion. I think I speak for the majority when I say, one wants wars to be destructive and full of chaos. Cannons/artillery would do the trick.
Also, because advanced nations would presumably have many cannons, it would create a cool late-game doomsday-like scenario, where a war between very advanced empires would trigger an immensely destructive long-range artillery duel. -

Darkworld89I have an a idea for how the walls would work. Walls would be part of culture, and kingdoms can not expand when they make walls all around the border. For them to expand they would have to make another village with the risk of a rebellion this is why it most likely should a rare trait. If the walls are added they should also make farmland and windmills outside the walls. The idea on how the walls would work in battle is something I do not want to think about.

NobleI mean you guys are talking about the difficulties of having walls surround villages or kingdoms but they don't even need to surround them the AI could always build them first in small sections like normal buildings and then slowly connect them this might solve the problem of them being in a weird place
-

MautI'm all for adding walls. But! To do this, it is necessary that houses in cities were built closer to each other and stood more compactly. So that houses form streets and cities have a gap between them. Perhaps you need to increase the cost of building a city so that one city can only appear with the support of several villages. Otherwise, you'll end up with walled kingdoms. It could be done so that the walls begin to be built after reaching a certain number of houses. After the construction of the walls, the continuation of the construction of houses to a certain number and again the construction of the walls. This would not only slow down the growth of cities but also contribute to the emergence of strongholds.

Zeke sternI think that siege weopens should be instead of cannons. Unless flintlocks, a new sword the cutlass and a musket would be added. Tho this might be too much new weopons. But having like a 16 century age for civilisations would be cool.

MegamamaddoxI would say instead of cannons maybe catapults because cannons require gun powder
-

UkalnskMaybe there should be walls but just in capitals or well nit around entire villages. Like partly or it would look terrible.

MIHTotally agree 👍
I'm sick of using a Mountain as Wall 😅
But if the wall was made of wood then it would consume a lot of forests...
Looks like we should improve Druid skills too, so he could make the forest growing faster, not just make savana became a forest LOL -

Aya!Also, the walls should not be touching the border. Maybe 1-3 squares outside the town hall, surrounding it.
-

KaiIt should also defend units using a bow shooting theem far away, even through high hills or mountains.
-

Firtree90I think for this it would be better if buildings are a bit more dense so the wall, if it is around entire village, is not very long. However what about only a part of village enclosed. Maybe if there is no danger for many years they decide they need no wall anymore. But if danger happens the new wall will be around entire town. It should not be a problem as they would be advanced at that point
-

xavianthen they should have hand grenades that act like the ones we use in game but smaller and only burn and destroy houses, trees, walls, bridges, grass, farms ect
-
30 May, '22
noalso, i think they should add something that you can place down, like the high mountains but slightly easier to use, and actually intended to be used as walls.

LobstercorAs Crossriderbankai22 said walls with levels according to the culture level is really great and walls should be treated as a tool and not as a weapon. Closing off other nations or spawning walls here and there in a griefing manner. I think the idea is more like having a "safe" perimeter around the central part of the town .(example would be to create it 60 blocks or more diameter around the campfire going around houses that are >50% within it).
Holding a certain amount of archers would be interesting though very challenging atm so we can leave that aside (for now).
Gates I think are fairly simple to create a block that lets friendly units pass and others not. (open borders actively affecting it)
Lastly my concern is how would the enemy deal with that? Would they just put archers hitting 1 piece of the wall for centuries or would they have to develop siege warfare which seems like a whole major update on its own. (My suggestion is to create something more simplified for now) -

IsaacoolUnits shouldn't be able to pass walls, but they should be able to destroy walls and then get past

a_table_sawI think cannons and walls being added would be a good way to improve the balance between races. Races should do things a little differently.
Humans are masters of development and high tech. They can create accurate, longer range cannons with good reliability and mobility. They also get them early on, allowing them to outdevelop the relentless orc threat.
Dwarves are miners and forgers. They can make huge bore sizes and lots of gunpowder. Their cannons pack a punch, but move more slowly. Very good when employed defensively.
Orcs aren't really technologists, but they are expendable. They make lots of cannons, but sometimes they explode in their face.
Elves are above such barbaric technology, and they don't need it anyway. After years of living in trees, they can simply climb walls. -

Feeding 101this is nice... and i think must be implemented ASAP... i mean, the village, even with the biggest population are still vulnerable. I want to see those tiny pixels guys desperately defend their city behind the wall.. now, that would be good...

SpongebobWell... walls are a nice Idea. As walls can be expanded if the village is reaching it's limits in terms of space needed for constructions.
The only problem I see is that it would actually affect how battles will be fought, as Sun Tzu said "to invade 1 castle you need 3 times their numbers" as the defending side has a massive advantage with the walls.
In my opinion 30% of the total city/town army should be placed to defend.
Either way, I just wanna play Worldbox I want to see how they keep developing it into a 5 stars game⚡
