HaviDraakThis should be already in the game in my opinion. Can build cathedrals but not bridges and can't cross small rivers feels a bit wrong

TheAverageFoxI think bridges should go over only shallow water
I think that would be cool -

NoahIt should be so that if they build it in shallow they can build far with less resources and medium less far mor resources and deep not far with a lot of resources

EnderTheGamerI agree with the shallow water but I also feel like they should have a better way of getting from island to island, this would be very complicated with boats i have to say, because if you have an island or some area like a circle shaped island with one opening you have the problem of them building a bridge there and completely trapping the boat.

KeithIturbide#8294Imagine it was allowed over waters and you just see bridges just at the end of the map

BakeWell I already said this but there kinda already are bridges in worldbox, what I do if there's a river or water blocking, I use the copy tool, and copy the path or road of villages and then drag it over the water and people will walk on it instead of having to walk around it

Zeke sternI agree with Seth, it would be cool like if briges could only be built over say three tile gaps. Tho it would be really fun that ships would not most likely be able to go from the rivers anymoreš

GarrettOh my goodness I canāt even count how many times a unit got stuck on a tiny island and couldnāt get back across a one block gap.

Ironkid216There could be different types of bridges depending on how long something is like 4 tile long shallow water had simple log bridges but as culture improves and longer rivers or bodies or water are out there they will make stone bridges that could have decorations. Also different races could have different bridges with orcs having torches and bones on theirs while elves are tree covered and mossy.Dwarves have bridges similar to the docks they make and humans will have a standard type.

RivertonnI discovered working bridges long ago and I Posted it on reddit @rivertonn you can check it out, but it only works for diagonal tiles, however you can still make horizontal and vertical as long as you have diagonal somewhere. Units and Boats can pass them btw.

DenvaI agree. I like making rivers in my worlds with shallow ocean tiles, and my little civilizations need whole boats to cross them. I think civilizations should be able to make bridges/boardwalks on any shallow ocean tile.

ParadoxBridge building ability should be dependent on:
01. The technology (or culture, since you unlock new tech by advancing culture) level of the village/kingdom.
02. The resources available.
Thus, we'd see a realistic scene where small village can only build a small bridge, while a large village/kingdom can even create a flyover of sorts to reach distant land.
Note that bridges would also need an upkeep cost per X time units, failing to provide which may degrade the bridge and cause it to collapse. (any other mechanism for this is also good.) -

NetsracAs the comment above me states, I think that bridge should be locked behind some level og tech.
And there should probably be different kinds of bridge that advance with the nation.
Like a small bridge could bridge maybe 4 tiles, medium like 6-10 and large 12-20.
That way we the players get to make cool maps with rivers and the like. -

KarisI would add that the civs need a certain level of technology that can be researched. For each researched level of bridge building they can connect over one, two and three shallow water tiles. And maybe the technology also enables them to build in close ocean but never in deep ocean.

TornadoBlovomI agree with @karis and i also think there should be drawbridges as well for boats to pass through.
-

TornadoBlovomMaybe make it so drawbridges are built at a min of 1 block away from land so they avoid making the bridge entirely out of drawbridges.

DeadguyIt would be very good if the civilizations would make bridges so we donāt have to connect the islands
-

BryceI mean that idea should only work with shallow waters and I'm not a hundred percent sure how would ships go pass but it's still an idea.

VraviniteJust make it so each town has a limit of how many bridges (1 or 2), bridges can only be built if they connect 2 roads through shallow water only, and can only be built as a ray from road A to road B, and maybe they take wood, stone and iron for each tile

ChilldownI do like the idea of bridges, but I would only want them to be able to cross small rivers, not just a random bridge across the whole world.

Firtree90Bridgebuilding should be a cultural advancement. Maybe in levels and it shows like lv 1 wooden only 3 gaps over shallow water etc.
-

Sussy AmogusYeah i want bridge. They took forever to build a deck just to cross a small river!
-
11 May, '22
JuokuI think that as long as the bridges length is limited so they can't build bridges across the entire map, this could be a great add on
-

GlobalekYes, waiting for an whole army or just a single civilian for geting across 1 pixel of ocean
-

Max AndersonThere must be a regulation for distance between the bridges and the length from and to is limited.
Also, Ships must be able to pass through the bridge, this has been the case since the medieval fantasy WB (worldbox) wants. -

Hyuri TayroneWe really need this, please WorldBox add this.
It sucks when a really little river stops a whole population from going to the other side.
Also it would look cool, big bridges too. -

AnonymousThey exist in the game but it's roads over water. Technically a bridge but really ghetto. But actual nice bridges, yes they should add this.

pluey200Perhaps the bridge feature could fall under the knowledge of the cultures, with them first being able to build short low bridges, which only small boats can fit under, then longer bridges, then tall bridges that bigger boats can fit under, then even longer bridges and learning how to upgrade low bridges to high bridges
-

JiroOnly the bridge goes to shallow water
And can only go 10 blocks if it doesn't this feature would be too OP!! -
24 Jul, '23
JustaPlayer90I think only over shallow water or/and smaller gaps , perhaps it can be technology like lv 1 bridge is wooden and can only cross 3 max and later it can be longer or maybe made out of stone
-
24 Jul, '23
JustaPlayer90so it be like houses get upgraded, but like 3 levels for lenght and final for material, but maybe it can only stay wooden too
-

BraxtonThis would be great and would be a good look but make a way for them to break and to be broken during war also make octopuses that like to break them for fun

ThatOneUnoriginalThis would be very interesting and nice to be seen added, would look better then having the humans and whatnot swim between two nearby bodies of land.
